Shore achieves Carbon Neutral status for 2024

Published: 16 May 2024

We have successfully renewed our carbon neutral status for the fourth consecutive year, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability.

This year, we’ve partnered with Carbon Footprint Ltd, a leader in carbon management.

By offsetting our residual carbon footprint, we have chosen to support community-based projects in developing countries that provide significant population health benefits, and economic savings for low-income families, and contribute to deforestation reduction. These projects, which include initiatives like efficient household cookstoves and clean drinking water projects, adhere to the Gold Standard certification.

Alongside the carbon neutral status, we hold a silver rating from EcoVadis for our corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices. The assessment evaluates how we incorporate and demonstrate the principles of sustainability and CSR. It focuses on four key areas: labour and human rights, ethics, environmental, and sustainable procurement.

Carbon neutral and Shore's sustainability journey

Nick Foley, Managing Director: “At Shore, sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a journey we’ve been undertaking alongside our customers to make a positive change in the industry.

We are actively researching and implementing strategies and practices to reduce resource consumption and emissions associated with the products we develop, as we strive to become a leader in sustainable design and help drive down the footprint of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.

Our efforts also extend to operations practices, including energy and waste reduction initiatives, hybrid working options, and a cycle-positive culture and location for employees.

Collaborating with recognised sustainability agencies and organisations like Carbon Footprint Ltd is integral to our progress.

While we continue pursuing net zero emissions for our operations, maintaining our carbon neutral status is essential in our sustainability journey”.

Dr Wendy Buckley, Client Director at Carbon Footprint Ltd, adds: “Shore is championing the sustainability movement by acknowledging the importance of responsibility on a corporate and global scale. It is reassuring that not only is Net Zero a future goal for Shore Group but also actively addressing current emissions, through high integrity carbon offset projects they support.”
