Shore achieves CarbonNeutral® certification meaning our greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced to zero
Published: January 2020
Shore are delighted and very proud to have been awarded CarbonNeutral® Company certification for 2020, meaning that the greenhouse gas emissions from our business operations have been reduced to zero.
All the team at Shore have long been passionate about protecting our environment, and you don’t have to look much further than Scotland’s amazing natural heritage to find encouragement. As well as scrutinising our activities in order to minimise our resource usage we worked closely with Natural Capital Partners, a leading expert on carbon neutrality and climate finance, to perform a full third-party assessment of our emissions. We then selected a trio of low carbon sustainable development projects from around the world to offset our remaining emissions.
The projects we supported are:
• Geothermal power in Indonesia
• Efficient cookstoves and water filtration in Guatemala
• Wind power in China
All three of these projects have further sustainability benefits such as improving the local economy and health outcomes.
It’s great to know that we are minimising our footprint on the planet, helping others, and still able to develop great products that will improve people’s lives.
