About the role
We have a position for a creative Industrial/ Product Design undergraduate to join our dynamic and successful team in Edinburgh for a spring & summer placement.
You will be based full time in our Edinburgh office, receive a competitive salary and broaden your professional experience as part of a tight-knit and experienced team. The shared values & collaborative nature of our team will provide many opportunities to quickly expand both your professional & personal growth.
You will contribute to the development of well-considered industrial design solutions and could see projects from strategy, through concept and refinement. From the beginning the role will include interaction with a wide range of clients and active contribution to live projects.
Enthusiasm, an optimistic outlook, willingness to learn and the ability to bring your creative input into the collaborative mix are important attributes we look for in a placement student.
This position requires creative problem-solving skills, good technical knowledge, aesthetic sensibility, and a human-centred design approach. You will be able to work to a given brief under instruction, producing high quality design solutions.
Ideal Requirements / Skills
- Strong creativity in concept generation via hand sketch work
- Competent use of Adobe Creative Suite Packages
- Some Knowledge of 3D CAD and rendering software
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team or as an individual with guidance
- Professional awareness and appreciation of customer focus
- Some Understanding of human factors and ergonomics
- Experience of UI/UX, Packaging & Graphic Design is a bonus
